Zak first hit the radar as a young distance talent out of Australia before taking his running career stateside to compete in the demanding NCAA system.

Since joining the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, he has been steadily lowering his personal bests across the middle and long distances. Competing in the Ohio Valley Conference, he has established solid marks on the track, including a 3:50.22 in the 1500m and a 14:40.27 in the 5000m, while also testing his grit over grueling 8k and 10k cross country courses.
