Late Notice Policy

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please provide 24 hours notice.

We understand plans change. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, and we’ll move it to another convenient time.

We ask that all clients please provide 24 hours notice when changing or cancelling appointments. This allows us enough time to deliver care to another client during your free appointment slot.

If you are unable to provide 24 hours notice, a Late Notice Fee will be charged, or deducted from your deposit. This is equal to the appointment fee (up to a maximum of $100).

FAQs

  • We understand plans change, which is why we don’t charge a fee if at least 24 hours notice is provided.

This usually allows us enough time to fill the reserved appointment slot with another client.

  • If an appointment changes or cancels an appointment within 24 hours of the appointment time, our Late Notice Policy will apply.

It also applies to clients who do not attend their appointment, or arrive late and miss their appointment time.

An invoice for the Late Notice Fee will be emailed. If a deposit was paid for the appointment in advance, the Late Notice Fee is deducted from the deposit.

  • If you are able to provide some notice, we’ll do our best to fill your appointment time with another client from our priority list.

If another client books into your slot, a Late Notice Fee will not apply.

  • If there is an appointment available later on the same day with your Podiatrist, this will also be offered to you (unless you are unwell).

If you’re able to attend a later appointment, your Late Notice Fee will also be waived.

  • We understand it feels unfair to be charged for an appointment you weren't able to attend, especially when it’s due to illness and other situations out of your control.

Unfortunately for us, over 90% of every appointment fee is used to cover things like wages of podiatrists and admin, rent and other expenses. So when an appointment is cancelled at late notice, the business is left significantly out of pocket.

Our Late Notice Fee helps us to cover some of these expenses, and is charged regardless of the reason for not being able to attend, in the same way you'd still be charged for a plane ticket, or childcare centre fees.

  • Understandably, for the safety of our team and other clients, we are unable to see clients if they are unwell at the time of their appointment.

  • Unfortunately we are unable to book your next appointment until outstanding Late Notice Fees are paid.

  • When you make an appointment with a business, you enter into a contract which includes terms and conditions, which at Foot Faults includes our Late Notice Policy.

Our Late Notice Policy is in line with Australian Consumer Law.

  • We try to be as transparent as possible about our Late Notice Policy. We advise all clients of our Policy when an initial appointment is booked (either over the phone or via our online booking system).

Clients are reminded, and asked to consent to, the Late Notice Policy, when the New Client Form is completed. Clients who have provided a mobile number are also reminded in the confirmation text message sent 2-3 days before each appointment.

The terms and conditions of our Late Notice Policy are displayed on our website.

  • Our Late Notice Policy only applies to confirmed appointments.

To confirm your appointment we send a text, email, or call, 2-3 days before your appointment to confirm you are able to attend.

We will also send you a reminder text message on the day of your appointment. If you would prefer a phone call reminder, please let us know.
